The fire got us when it was less than 100 acres. It's now 20,000 acres and raging out of control, fed by winds and a forest full of trees killed by the Spruce Bark Beetle.
Updates and more pictures are posted at our Borough Emergency Management website.
The fire burned on uninhabited land until it had consumed approximately 10,000 acres, then took a turn to head toward a more heavily inhabited portion of the recreational area, doubling in size by the next day.
Rob said that the FIRE realized that our friend had some of his equipment and said to itself, "I gotta go get Rob's dune-buggy. I certainly can't leave him with any posessions! (evil laugh)"
I've heard reports that it has now consumed over 40 cabins. I was so hoping that nobody else would have to suffer.
To put this in perspective, folks... Jacob is fighting in very bad conditions now. Please be in prayer for him. There aren't enough cabins in the world to compare to just my one Jacob. FIRE can do what he will to our possessions, just so that we have our loved ones.Labels: faith, Jacob, Rob |
