2-6 "Wait until next year." That is quickly becoming the refrain of Buckaneer fans, who are likely to witness their team finish with a losing record for the third time in the past four seasons. The once-proud defense is officially dead. There really is no link to the past, other than a few recognizable names on the back of the jerseys. The offense, which began last week's game against the Saints with six three-and-outs, is searching for an identity behind rookie quarterback Bruce Gradkowski.

4-4 Carolina Panthers' quarterback Jake Delhomme said it's up to the players, not the coaches, to turn around the team's second-half scoring drought. Delhomme refuted the idea that the Panthers coaching staff is slow to make changes at halftime, despite the fact that in each of the last two games they've scored 14 points in the first half and none in the second. This week, the Panthers will look to turn things around when they host Tampa Bay on Monday night. MY TEAM: 7-2 Broncos are still having a good year! However, things could be better. They'll regret not finishing off the Indianapolis Colts for a while, especially when playoff seeds are given out. But halfway into the season, the Broncos are pleased at where they stand. Denver is 7-2, the same as last year, and are tied for first place in the AFC West heading into Sunday's game with Oakland. "I feel like we have done some good things in the first half of the season," said Broncos coach Mike Shanahan -my own personal hero and role model. (... that's for you, Stone!)Labels: Football |
