Always Learning
I'm reading this tremendous book. Pray Through It by Rob Morrissette. He's from the Elijah House. I wonder if I can print a few inspirational excerpts without violating copyright.

p. 3 One of the ways I have notice that the Lord attemps to bring about sanctification in me is by allowing though circumstances or people into my life that stir-up the very issues that need to be addressed. ... When He does this, I have found that He is bringing to my attention those areas that He specifically wishes to heal.

p. 11 ...There are some people who take life and circumstances head-on, despite all that comes at them. Their motto is "you might as well take it on! " They push ahead. For every five steps forward they may fall three steps back. But they figure that ... they're making progress. But why can't they seem to retain all the progress they've made? What if our peace was truly no longer dependent upon our circumstances? What if others no longer had the power to "steal" our sense of self, or redefine who we are? What if five steps forward remained five steps forward?


Re-occuring disappointment has brought too much hurt. ... As a result, we have found ourselves compromising our goals, settling for less and diminishing our dreams, all in an attempt to minimize the pain of continued disappointment. We find ourselves redefining such things as love, family, marriage and what it means to be a man or a woman.

p. 15 One characteristic about roots is that... they are always at work, growing and sustaining the plant they belong to. Since they are covered up, you can't see all the directions they travel in. Nor can you see how large they are, or what they are doing. Yet, the evidence of their existence is seen above the surface - in the plant itself, its leaves and its fruit. Without the roots, the plant would wither and die.
